چکیده

Trigonella foenum-graecum and Zingiber officinale are used as traditional medicinal plants for the treatment of infectious inflammatory diseases. However, a comparative analysis bioactivities T. Z. lack some necessary information therapeutic purposes. This study was designed to evaluate biochemical characterizations biological efficacy antioxidant, antidiabetic, antiamnesic, cytotoxic agents. Antioxidant activity determined by DPPH free radical scavenging assay. Antidiabetic potentials were evaluated glycation, alpha-amylase, acetylcholinesterase inhibition assays. We performed characterization through analyses high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) FTIR (Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy). Results revealed that total phenolic contents (TPCs) (g GAE/100 g) 5.74 ± 0.81 g 6.15 0.06 g, respectively, flavonoid (TFCs) varied from 1.51 0.58 CE/100 17.54 0.58. extract 50.27% 88.82%, respectively. Antiglycation showed maximum at 16–29% 96%. Alpha-amylase alpha-glucosidase ranged 9.43–24.95 10.52–27.89 54.97%, All test samples potential 0.37–46.88%. HPLC presence quercetin, gallic acid, caffeic vanillic syringic cumeric while benzoic chlorogenic p.Coumaric ferulic cinnamic acid. aldehydes, ketones, aromatic compounds, amines, carbonyl groups in foenum-graecum, alcohol, alkane, alkene, ketone, amine, ether bioactives present methanolic officinale. It concluded higher effects.

In vitro estrogenic activities of fenugreek Trigonella foenum graecum seeds.

BACKGROUND & OBJECTIVES Trigonella foenum graecum commonly known as fenugreek, has been widely cultivated in Asia, Africa and Mediterranean countries for the edible and medicinal values of its seeds. Earlier reports show that fenugreek seeds provide a mastogenic effect resulting in enhanced breast size. However, very little is known about its estrogenic effect. The present study investigated th...

In vitro studies on antiradical and antioxidant activities of fenugreek (Trigonella foenum graecum) seeds

An extract of fenugreek (Trigonella foenum graecum) seeds was isolated and evaluated for antioxidant activity using various in vitro assay systems. The seed extract exhibited scavenging of hydroxyl radicals ( OH) and inhibition of hydrogen peroxide-induced lipid peroxidation in rat liver mitochondria. The OH scavenging activity of the extract was evaluated by pulse radiolysis and the deoxyribos...

Effect of Soaking and Germination on Nutrient and Antinutrient Contents of Fenugreek (trigonella Foenum Graecum L.)

Fenugreek seeds (raw, soaked and germinated) were analyzed for their chemical composition. Raw fenugreek seeds contained higher amount of dietary jiber 46.50% followed by 42.12% in soaked seeds and 32.50% in germinated seeds. Soaking reduced the level of total soluble sugars, reducing sugars, nonreducing sugars, dietary fiber and improved the protein and starch digestibility and availability of...

Screening the Antioxidant activity of Trigonella foenum graecum Seeds

This study was undertaken to examine the antioxidant activity of methanolic extract of seeds of Trigonella foenum-graecum seeds using DPPH free radical scavenging assay. The IC50 (The concentration of sample required to scavenge 50% of DPPH free radical) was calculated by plotting graph between % inhibition vs concentration. The Ascorbic acid was used as standard antioxidant in comparison to me...
